The business did not carry out a review at the correct time and thus Mrs Smith was not informed of the current policy value. If they had carried out the review, Mrs Smith would have surrendered the policy at this point.

 

Mrs Smith should be redressed for any potential loss by comparing her premiums from the date of earlier review, with simple interest, to any increase in her policy value.
